What a game!

The Devizes Mixed Senior Hockey team pulled off an incredible 4-3 victory over Shrivenham Defense Academy On Wednesday 5th February.

The game took place under floodlights in Shrivenham, and after a 7pm push back, our visiting Devizes team went 3-0 down in the first quarter.

BUT, our team fought their way back.

The turnaround began in Q3 with some fantastic, quality passing, transferring of the ball and off-ball movement across the team. Come Q4 our guys were confident and dominating, resulting in a late winner for a really convincing victory for Devizes.

Highlights of the evening included an outstanding opening goal from Amie Sheppard that brought the team back into the game and the ‘Steve Weller Engine’ in action - showing everyone how to refuel the furnace with pizza and beer after the game!

We can’t wait to see our mixed seniors in action again.

Devizes Hockey Club has teams and sessions for all.

We also run Back to Hockey practices on a Monday night for anyone, of any age, looking to get into the sport for the first time, or dust off their stick and return to the game after time out.
